The T12 (better known as Gully Cricket) brought together some exceptionally talented players representing Medical Professionals from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
On the 20th October 2016, Mega Courts hosted the T12 cricket event seeing some remarkable plays especially that last ball in the qualifier that saw Sri Lanka obtain maximum runs to just oust Pakistan from the Final).
India had the glory of winning this inaugural event with Sri Lanka, following the Aussies and Pakistan.
We had a notable dignitary, a doyen in SA Cricket, Neil Dansie present the awards and he was very impressed with the quality and standard of the cricket.
Sonny was considered most valuable player and as Captain also received the Winner’s Trophy; Shanthan was considered the best all-rounder; Rizwan was awarded for taking the most spectacular catch; Ahmad was awarded for best bowling/fielding.
Special thanks to the Captains for getting their teams together on time. Thanks to the staff for hosting/umpiring/scoring and generally being supportive.
Nav, from Perfect Motion Physiotherapy sponsored the Aussies outfit and as Neil Dansie said he is good bloke and physio.
The games were played at the highest level of sportsmanship and a fabulous sense of camaraderie has been forged with the players wishing it to be a regular event as well as a Soccer International.
Dr John Cross, Manager for Health Education and Training – AMPHEaT , who organised the event would like to thank all those that have contributed to this special sporting and cultural medical event.
